Softball Recap: South Brunswick Cougars vs. Topsail Pirates
South Brunswick posted their closest win since March 11th on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Topsail Pirates 2-0. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Kina Davis made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
Davis wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Savana Burgess, who went 1-for-3 with one run.
