Gaffney is a perfect 4-0 against Landrum since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Indians will look to defend their home pitch against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Gaffney's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Gaffney is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Wade Hampton on Monday. The Indians fell just short of the Generals by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, Gaffney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Wade Hampton are ranked 34th).

Meanwhile, Landrum made easy work of High Point Academy on Monday and carried off a 4-1 win. The victory continues a trend for Landrum in their matchups with High Point Academy: they've now won five in a row.

Tristan Barker and Hector Gomez scored all four of Landrum's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 2-16-1. As for Landrum, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Everything went Gaffney's way against Landrum in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Gaffney made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Indians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
