Football Recap: Suitland Rams vs. Einstein Titans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Suitland had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Einstein Titans a 52-0 shutout. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 44 points or more this season.
Suitland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Corey Banks Jr out in front who picked up 87 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 30 yards. Banks Jr really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 80 yards. Anthony Boyd Jr. was another key signal caller, throwing for 108 yards and two touchdowns on only nine passes.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Suitland's defense and their four sacks. Einstein's QB won't forget Michael Robinson anytime soon given he sacked him twice.
The win made it two in a row for Suitland and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for Einstein, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
Suitland will square off against Old Mill on Friday. Old Mill will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Suitland surely won't give up without a fight. Einstein does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
