Basketball Game Preview: Beddingfield Bruins vs. Fike Demons

Beddingfield and Fike are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2021, but not for long. The Beddingfield Bruins will be taking part in a tournament against the Fike Demons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Beddingfield is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Fike just ended the team's three-game winning streak last Friday. They came up short against the Demons, falling 77-51. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Demons are ranked 96th).

Beddingfield better focus on containing Da'Qavis Greene and William Monk as the pair were huge in Fike's win. Greene dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 boards, while Monk went 10 of 18 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. Monk's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Loftin, who posted six points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Fike smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Fike's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Beddingfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
