It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Franklin ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Enka Jets 10-8. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 6-1 win the Jets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2025.

Suzanna Cabe spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kendall Rumans, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Meliah Mason, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

The victory made it two in a row for Franklin and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Enka, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Franklin will head out to challenge Tuscola at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Enka, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Swain County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Maroon Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Jets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
