Basketball Recap: Hinton Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Hinton proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 31) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers, sneaking past 61-59. The win was all the more spectacular given the Comets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Tigers are ranked 118th).

The victory (which was Hinton's third in a row) raised their record to 7-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Mountain View-Gotebo, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hinton will face off against Hammon at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th. As for Mountain View-Gotebo, they will challenge Burns Flat-Dill City at 6:30 p.m. on January 28th.
