Baseball Recap: Perry Gets the Win

Perry hadn't done well against Pewamo-Westphalia recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Ramblers skirted past the Pirates 13-11. With that victory, the Ramblers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Tyger Whitbeck was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Johnny McConnell, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nolan Krupp, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Perry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Perry's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Pewamo-Westphalia, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Perry beat the Pirates by a score of 4-1 later that day.
