Basketball Game Preview: Newnan Cougars vs. Temple Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Newnan Cougars challenge the Temple Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday... Newnan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Newnan beat Callaway 51-42. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Temple's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to South Paulding 63-58.

Temple's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Newnan, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
