Recap: Johnson Crusaders vs. South River Rams
On Friday, The Johnson Crusaders got themselves on the board against the South River Rams, but the South River Rams never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rams 49-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Johnson, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Johnson's win was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 South River and 2-6 Bound Brook (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37% over those games). As for South River, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Johnson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South River will head out on the road to face off against Point Pleasant Beach at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Point Pleasant Beach is ranked 330th, while South River is ranked 326th).
