Softball Recap: Pelion Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fox Creek typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Pelion proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Predators a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Panthers have won 11 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Savanna Padgett was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Summer Randolph, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Pelion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fox Creek only posted an OBP of .294.

The victory (which was Pelion's third in a row) raised their record to 14-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Fox Creek, they moved to 17-6 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Coming up, Pelion will face off against High Point Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Grizzlies at the right time seeing as the Grizzlies are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fox Creek, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-3 victory against Silver Bluff on the 30th.
