Basketball Recap: Village Christian Academy Starts Season with Win at Home

Village Christian Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Star Christian Academy Golden Tigers 64-29. The Knights not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since November 22, 2024 (when they won 75-32).

Among those leading the charge was Corey Woolsey, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Trey Evers, who shot 83% from the field on his way to 10 points.

Village Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Star Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Village Christian Academy will host Cape Fear Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Star Christian Academy, after both having extra time off, they and Southside Christian will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
