Recap: St. Raphael Academy Saints vs. Burrillville Broncos
On Saturday, The St. Raphael Academy Saints faced the Burrillville Broncos in a battle between two of the state's top teams. St. Raphael Academy managed a 12-6 win over Burrillville. The victory was nothing new for St. Raphael Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.
Aaron Julius was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown.
The team lost despite holding St. Raphael Academy to a paltry 168 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Burrillville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Ethan Murphy and his two sacks.
St. Raphael Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Burrillville, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
St. Raphael Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Rhode Island (South Kingstown is ranked 13th, while St. Raphael Academy is ranked tenth). As for Burrillville, they will head out on the road to face off against Westerly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westerly will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
