Baseball Recap: Fenwick Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fenwick had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They came out on top against the Kenwood Broncos by a score of 7-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Friars, who have now won three games in a row.

Matt Purta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Fenwick is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 12-15-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Josh Morgan was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since May 3rd. Bryan Tunison was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI.

Fenwick's win bumped their record up to 19-15-1. As for Kenwood, with the defeat, they broke their 12-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7-1.

As of now, neither Fenwick nor the Broncos have any future games scheduled.
