Volleyball Recap: Troup Gets the Win

It was a proper cat-fight when Troup challenged Big Sandy on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Troup took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-14.

Shiloh Sluder paced Troup's offense, picking up eight kills. Sluder got some help from Qhenja Jordan and her 11 assists. Sluder was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Troup has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. As for Big Sandy, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Coincidentally, Troup and Big Sandy will both be playing Kilgore the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
