Austin posted their closest win since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 victory over the Albert Lea Tigers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 76-68 back in December of 2025.

Austin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for Albert Lea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Austin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 80-58 win against Mankato West on the 2nd. As for Albert Lea, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 87-25 victory against Cristo Rey Jesuit on the 31st.
