Softball Recap: Lewisburg Takes a Loss

Lewisburg suffered their closest loss since February 22nd on Friday. They fell just short of the Northwest Rankin Cougars by a score of 9-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Leona-Klaire Stokes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-3. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Carley Cochran also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Lewisburg's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Northwest Rankin, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Coincidentally, Lewisburg and Northwest Rankin will both be playing St. Benedict at Auburndale the next time they take the field. Northwest Rankin will head out to face St. Benedict at Auburndale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lewisburg will play them later in the day, at 8:00 p.m.
