Basketball Recap: Bluffton Skates Past Bethesda Academy with Ease

Bluffton had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 38-point drubbing they dealt Bethesda Academy on Thursday. The Bluffton Bobcats breezed by the Bethesda Academy Blazers to the tune of 84-46. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Harrison Skinner, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. Jamari Manning was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points.

Skinner wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Bluffton was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethesda Academy only racked up seven assists.

Loss or not, Bethesda Academy got some senior leadership from Franky Jackson and Israel Wright. Jackson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards, while Wright posted 13 points. Those 14 boards gave Jackson a new career-high.

Bluffton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.4 points. As for Bethesda Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Bluffton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-42 victory against Islands on the 27th. As for Bethesda Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 44-38 defeat against Bridges Prep on the 27th.
