Baseball Game Preview: Covington Lions vs. Hammond Tornadoes

For the second straight game, Covington will face off against Hammond. Covington will venture away from home to square off against Hammond at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Covington has four straight victories, Hammond has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Covington's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Hammond with a sharp 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Covington pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Hammond, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-20.
