Volleyball Recap: Williston Takes a Loss

Williston lost against Santa Fe back in August of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Red Devils lost 3-0 to the Raiders. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 25-15.

Kai Gowland paced Williston's offense, picking up seven kills. Gowland got some help from Estella Fugate and her seven assists. Calie Phillips and Amelia Smith kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Santa Fe found their leader in sophomore Reagan Adkins, who had eight assists and six digs. Ella Schneider was another key player, getting eight assists and seven digs.

Williston's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Santa Fe, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-8 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Williston will host Saint Francis Catholic Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Santa Fe, they will square off against Fleming Island at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
