Softball Recap: Charleston Comes Up Short

Charleston lost against Effingham on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Trojans fell just short of the Hearts by a score of 9-7. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Avery Beals led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Lainie Keefer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Charleston's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Effingham, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Charleston will face off against Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Effingham, they will square off against Mater Dei at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
