Baseball Recap: Sacred Heart Prep Takes a Loss

If Sacred Heart Prep was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Mills last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Sacred Heart Prep Gators took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Archbishop Riordan Crusaders on Friday. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Sacred Heart Prep got a good showing from Rallin Covey, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Covey has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Sacred Heart Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Moldow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That stolen base was Moldow's first of the season.

Sacred Heart Prep now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Archbishop Riordan, their record now sits at 3-1-1.

Sacred Heart Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-1 defeat against San Mateo on the 8th. As for Archbishop Riordan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-1 loss against Leigh on the 8th.
