Basketball Game Preview: West Catholic Falcons vs. Union Red Hawks

The West Catholic Falcons will square off against the Union Red Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West Catholic is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 73 points on Saturday, they were much more limited against Northview on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Wildcats and fell 71-24. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt an 81-49 defeat at the hands of South Christian. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 536th, while the Sailors are ranked 60th).

West Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
