Page is 8-2 against Window Rock since March of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Page Sand Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Window Rock Fighting Scouts at 2:30 a.m. Page will be strutting in after a win while Window Rock will be coming in after a defeat.
Page can now show off 14 landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Chinle as Page made off with a 10-0 victory.
Leah Bigthumb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Bigthumb was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing six bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kamya June was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last seven games she's played. Traidyn Sutherland was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Window Rock's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell victim to a rough 12-1 loss at the hands of Winslow. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Window Rock in their matchups with Winslow: they've now lost seven in a row.
Page's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-12. As for Window Rock, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Page took their victory against Window Rock in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 19-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Page since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
