Basketball Recap: Slaughter Community Charter Comes Up Short

Slaughter Community Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Istrouma Indians and fell 64-28. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-18.

Eryn Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Istrouma, dropping a triple-double on 40 points, 14 boards, and 12 steals. That makes it 22 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Istrouma's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayana Johnson, who posted six points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Slaughter Community Charter's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Istrouma, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
