Basketball Recap: Nolyn Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lanesville over South Central

Lanesville and South Central squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lanesville had to settle for second. They took a hard 73-56 fall against the South Central Rebels. The Eagles have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nolyn Hall, who shot 64% from the field to rack up 20 points and five boards. Hall's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolin Pearce, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

Lanesville's loss dropped their record down to 9-14. As for South Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Lanesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Central, they will challenge Borden at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. South Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 matchups -- so hopefully Borden likes a good challenge.
