Baseball Game Preview: Enterprise Wildcats vs. Ariton Purple Cats

Enterprise has won eight straight games at home, while Ariton has won eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Enterprise Wildcats will host the Ariton Purple Cats at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Enterprise 2.7, Ariton 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Enterprise barely beat Providence Christian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Enterprise blew past Providence Christian 11-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Walker Turner was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Gavin Maund was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Enterprise was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Ariton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against Saint James, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Purple Cats have suffered since April 11, 2024.

Enterprise's victory bumped their record up to 15-0. As for Ariton, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-3.

Enterprise came out on top in a nail-biter against Ariton when the teams last played back in March of 2022, sneaking past 11-9. Will Enterprise repeat their success, or does Ariton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
