Basketball Game Preview: McFarland Spartans vs. Elkhorn Elks

The McFarland Spartans are taking a road trip to square off against the Elkhorn Elks at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

McFarland took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Reedsburg as McFarland made off with a 90-65 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Beavers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Elkhorn hadn't done well against Westosha Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Elkhorn walked away with a 62-55 win over Westosha Central. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Elks.

Elkhorn pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for McFarland, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

McFarland beat Elkhorn 54-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2016. The rematch might be a little tougher for McFarland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
