Baseball Game Preview: Winfield Generals vs. Sissonville Indians

The Winfield Generals will face off against the Sissonville Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sissonville is facing Winfield at the wrong time: Winfield suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They fell 11-7 to the Highlanders.

Blake Withrow made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Blackwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Sissonville might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 8-6 to Independence, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Winfield's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Sissonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Winfield was able to grind out a solid win over Sissonville in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 3-0. Do the Generals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
