Basketball Recap: Faith Academy Charter Comes Up Short

The Faith Academy Charter Patriots lost to the Providence Classical Paladins on the road by a 65-46 margin on Friday. While the Patriots didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Paladins 15-11 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Faith Academy Charter still got an impressive performance from Jelani King, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 16 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. King is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Bennett Brinkley was another key player, putting up 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Providence Classical found their leader in sophomore Grafton Eiff, who dropped a triple-double with 28 points, ten assists, and 11 steals. Another player making a difference was Malachi Thompson, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards.

Faith Academy Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Providence Classical, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Faith Academy Charter will venture away from home to square off against Woodlawn at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Providence Classical, they will host Lake Pointe Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
