Basketball Game Preview: Lamar Silver Foxes vs. C.A. Johnson Hornets

Lamar hasn't had much luck against C.A. Johnson recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lamar Silver Foxes will challenge the C.A. Johnson Hornets at 6:30 p.m.

Lamar is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They were dealt a 53-11 loss at the hands of Hartsville. The Silver Foxes were down 42-10 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, C.A. Johnson didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Philip Simmons on Monday, but they still walked away with a 39-33 win.

C.A. Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for Lamar, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Lamar was dealt a bruising 78-28 loss at the hands of C.A. Johnson when the teams last played back in February of 2016. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Lamar was down 39-14.
