Basketball Recap: Apple Springs Comes Up Short

Apple Springs lost against Zavalla back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Apple Springs Eagles were beaten by the Zavalla Eagles 62-19. Apple Springs was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Katie Davis was Apple Springs' leading scorer, having posted eight points. Lauren Lankford held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds. Brooke Brister took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Apple Springs dropped their record down to 1-20 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Zavalla, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Apple Springs has already played their next game (against Martinsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Zavalla has already played their next contest, an 85-10 win against Kennard on the 22nd.
