Basketball Recap: Hemphill Comes Up Short

Hemphill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Woden Eagles, falling 56-23. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 40-30 back in January.

Hemphill's record is now 4-18. As for Woden, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Hemphill and Woden could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Hemphill will take on West Sabine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 696 places (1289 vs. 593). Meanwhile, Woden (ranked 637th) will meet Chireno (ranked 206th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
