Meanwhile, Boardman entered their tilt with Canfield on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cardinals. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted against the Cardinals since April 5, 2022.
Ryan Neifer looked comfortable as he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tyler Kirlik, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Varley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Boardman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Boardman's victory bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Poland Seminary, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.
