Volleyball Game Preview: Dwyer Panthers vs. Royal Palm Beach Wildcats

The Dwyer Panthers will challenge the Royal Palm Beach Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Dwyer was handed a three-set defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Wellington 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won four in a row.

Dwyer was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-17, 16-25, 25-8, 15-11.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Royal Palm Beach had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on Forest Hill with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 25th (when they won 3-0).

Royal Palm Beach was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-19, 25-16.

Dwyer's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Royal Palm Beach, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.

Everything went Dwyer's way against Royal Palm Beach in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, as Dwyer made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
