Softball Recap: Ethel Walker vs. Kingswood Oxford Wyverns

Ethel Walker couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. Their rough 15-3 loss to the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. Ethel Walker was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kingswood Oxford apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

For Kingswood Oxford's part, Olivia Raccio '28 was incredible, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Evans '29, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

The victory (which was Kingswood Oxford's fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Ethel Walker will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Miss Hall's at 3:00 p.m. on May 1st. As for Kingswood Oxford, they will head out on the road to challenge Hamden Hall Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
