Basketball Recap: Pitt County P's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against New Bern Christian Academy, Pitt County P was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 46-39 victory over Coastal Brigade. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Pacers as it put an end to their 11-game losing streak.

Pitt County P can attribute much of their success to Landon Pike, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 17 points. JT Smethrs was another key player, putting up ten points.

Luke Bledsoe and Levi Ellis certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Bledsoe posted 15 points and eight rebounds, while Ellis put up 12 points and three steals. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played.

Pitt County P's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-11. As for Coastal Brigade, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Pitt County P will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Coastal Brigade, they will head out on the road to square off against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
