Softball Recap: Milford Finds Home Field Redemption Against Dover

There's no place like home for Milford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Dover Senators an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. With that win, the Buccaneers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Tenley Lord made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Lord was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Bella Watson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Adri Fountain, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Milford now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Dover, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will welcome Red Lion Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Dover, they will host Delmarva Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
