Soccer Recap: Valencia's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

If Valencia was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Poly last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Valencia Tigers lost 4-0 to the Mater Dei Monarchs on Monday. The Tigers were red-hot offensively headed into the match (they scored no less than four goals in the three games prior) but the Monarchs' defense proved too tough.

Valencia moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. As for Mater Dei, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Valencia will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Godinez Fundamental at 6:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Mater Dei, they will finish 2024 at home by hosting Long Beach Poly at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Mater Dei is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4 goals per game this season.
