Basketball Recap: Lawrence County Takes a Loss

If Lawrence County was riding high fresh off their 64-42 takedown of Pike County Central last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lawrence County Bulldogs took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Betsy Layne Bobcats on Saturday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bobcats earlier this season, when they won 68-49.

Lawrence County now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Betsy Layne, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-5.

Looking ahead, Lawrence County will be playing in front of their home fans against Boyd County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Boyd County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. As for Betsy Layne, they will square off against Pike County Central at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
