Basketball Recap: The Gunston School Herons vs. Key Obezags
The Gunston School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 57-43 to the Key Obezags. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Herons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-32 last Monday.
Key found their leader in sophomore Anjo Yette, who went 8 for 13 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was AJ Manganaro, who posted 11 points.
The Gunston School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Key, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Gunston School and Sts. Peter & Paul will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Sts. Peter & Paul knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully The Gunston School likes a good challenge. As for Key, they will square off against Calverton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Key is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season.
