Rio Lindo Adventist falls despite strong effort from Jhordany Barcenas

Recap: Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans vs. Newbury Park Adventist Gators
The Rio Lindo Adventist Spartans were the 57-46 winner over the Newbury Park Adventist Gators when they last played one another back in January of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Rio Lindo Adventist was outmatched by Newbury Park Adventist on the road and fell 79-33. Rio Lindo Adventist was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-15.
Despite the loss, Rio Lindo Adventist still got an impressive performance from Jhordany Barcenas, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Rio Lindo Adventist now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Newbury Park Adventist, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rio Lindo Adventist and Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pleasant Hill Adventist Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Newbury Park Adventist's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hillcrest Christian at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hillcrest Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
