Football Recap: Draughn Wildcats vs. Mitchell Mountaineers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Draughn can now relate to. They took a 39-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mitchell Mountaineers on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 33-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October.
Draughn's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sterling Radabaugh, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 234 yards and a touchdown. Radabaugh didn't just play on offense: he also forced a fumble and made three total tackles in addition to snagging an interception. 85 of Radabaugh's passing yards were hauled in by Connor Houston.

Webb really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run. Kaj Pittman was another key player, rushing for 116 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.
Draughn's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-5. As for Mitchell, their record is now 7-3.
Draughn does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mitchell, they will challenge Corvian Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Corvian Community will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Mitchell surely won't give up without a fight.
