Basketball Recap: Hughes Takes a Loss

Hughes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 64-26 defeat at the hands of the Perry County Vikings. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Perry County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kristan Duncan, who went 8-for-9 en route to 20 points. What's more, Duncan also posted a 89% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Bell Warren, who went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points.

Hughes' loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Perry County, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.

As of now, neither Hughes nor Perry County have any future games scheduled.
