Basketball Recap: Rihanna Hunt Key Part of a Team Effort in Red Rams Win

Franklinton won the last time they faced Nash Central and things went their way on Thursday too. The Franklinton Red Rams came out on top against the Nash Central Bulldogs by a score of 40-32. The win was all the more spectacular given the Red Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 300th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 127th).

Franklinton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Rihanna Hunt out in front who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Meredith Wilkins, who put up 11 points.

When it comes to explaining why Nash Central lost, don't look at Cameron Fate. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine blocks. Those nine blocks gave Fate a new career-high.

Franklinton now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Nash Central, their record is now 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklinton will venture away from home to take on Cary at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Nash Central, they are taking a road trip to challenge Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on December 26th. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Angelia Dunn and Marquasia Warren.
