Basketball Recap: A Plus Academy Has No Trouble Against Gateway Charter Academy

A Plus Academy hadn't done well against Gateway Charter Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The A Plus Academy Knights took down the Gateway Charter Academy Gators 65-49. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 67-37 win the Gators walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Several Gators players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Terry Richardson, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 17 points. Richardson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Bobby Williams was another key player, putting up 11 points.

A Plus Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they dropped their record down to 3-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

A Plus Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-35 loss against Young Men's Leadership Academy on the 10th. As for Gateway Charter Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-47 defeat against Life Oak Cliff on the 11th.
