Baseball Recap: St. Ignatius Comes Up Short

St. Ignatius blew Jesuit out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Jesuit got their revenge. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since May 5, 2025.

Jackson Anthony made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run.

This is the second loss in a row for St. Ignatius and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Jesuit, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

St. Ignatius will challenge IMG Academy Silver at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jesuit, they will face off against Badin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
