Football Recap: Cole Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Cole Valley Christian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-4. They had to suffer through a 38-6 loss at the hands of the Weiser Wolverines. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.

Braydon Van Boven threw for 261 yards and one touchdown while completing 76.9% of his passes. Tristan Horton was his top target, picking up 88 receiving yards. On the ground, Ethan Minegar rushed for 29 yards.

As for Weiser, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points on average over those games.

Garrett Walker was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 95 yards and one TD, and also picked up 54 receiving yards and one score. His longest rush was for an incredible 75 yards. Nate Herrera-Garcia did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 85 receiving yards.

Cole Valley Christian has already played their next matchup, a 55-7 victory against Payette on the 17th. As for Weiser, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 34-12 loss against Fruitland on the 17th.
