Baseball Recap: Union Grove's Loss Ends 16-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Union Grove came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Oconomowoc Raccoons, falling 10-4. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raccoons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Union Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Northup, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Tucker Katterhagen was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Union Grove's loss ended a 16-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-6. As for Oconomowoc, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union Grove will face off against Badger at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oconomowoc, they will challenge Waukesha South at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raccoons are facing the Blackshirts at the right time seeing as the Blackshirts are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
