Football Recap: Independence Takes a Loss

Independence fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Benton on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 34-28 to the Bobcats. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Independence's record now sits at 4-3. As for Benton, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.

Coming up, Independence will square off against Iowa Falls-Alden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Cadets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Benton, they will welcome West Delaware at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hawks' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Bobcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
