Basketball Recap: BASIS Comes Up Short

BASIS was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 60-50 to Calverton. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Red Giants came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 38th in District of Columbia, while Calverton are ranked 258th in Maryland).

Despite the loss, BASIS still got an impressive performance from Timothy Chamberlain II, who posted 33 points. That was a full 66% of BASIS's points, marking the 17th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

BASIS's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Calverton, their win bumped their record up to 5-13.

BASIS does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Calverton, they will challenge The Living Water School at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Justus Washington and Isaiah Bobo.
